Nasmith of Company C, 7th Wisconsin Infantry Regiment, and later, Colonel of the 25th Wisconsin Infantry Regiment, including a typewritten copy of a letter written while stationed in Minnesota following an Indian massacre. Also included are a brief biographical sketch and letter (1939) written by his son, J. S. Nasmith of Marion, New York.
